An Update for my Medium Presence

A quick one for my small but valued band of readers who have honoured me by taking the time to read my work here on Medium over the years — over the coming months, I’ll be somewhat less active on Medium, and the content that I do produce will be decidely less gaming-focused.

One of the top gaming publications on Medium over the years has been SUPERJUMP. In March last year, SUPERJUMP announced that they would be going entirely independent. This was something that I had my eye on for a while, but distractions and the desire to establish myself independently kept me distracted.

About two and a half years ago, I wrote the article “Why I Write About Games”. As I explained then, writing about games is something I am deeply passionate about, and I draw satisfaction from the act itself rather than any exposure it provides me as a writer (although that is a great bonus).

Having seen some of SUPERJUMP’s output over the years, I could see that this was a publication that shared my passion for writing about games. They are a publication driven by providing non-cynical, unique and insightful observations about gaming and the games industry. I decided to take my first crack at writing for a website since Exclusively Games folded, and I’m now honoured to be a part of their team.

SUPERJUMP is a publication where writers with shared interests have the freedom to pursue games writing in a way that I don’t think any other site in the industry is doing. It is exciting and fresh, and I hopet that you’ll continue to follow my work there.

Meanwhile, here on Medium, I will continue to maintain a writing presence for the non-gaming stuff — opinions on Tabletop RPGs, life in general, and so on. I will also begin to migrate some of my games writing over to SUPERJUMP where I hope the articles will find a home amongst all the brilliant games writing.

Cheers!
